Introducing ClickStack embedded in ClickHouse
Mark Needham
As of ClickHouse 26.2, the ClickStack UI ships directly with ClickHouse — making it easy to explore your own datasets, inspect observability data, and even watch ClickHouse monitor itself, all from localhost.
This video covers a practical walkthrough of the embedded UI:
- Enabling query and metrics logs via a config file before starting ClickHouse
- Setting up a custom source pointing at the system query log table
- Streaming live data from the Wikimedia recent changes feed into ClickHouse
- Drilling into individual log entries — exceptions, row counts, client info
- Exploring the built-in dashboard for query performance and system resource usage
