Ship something real, not a demo
Judges can smell a slide deck. Build a working prototype on ClickHouse — even a rough one — that solves an actual problem a customer would pay for. Real queries on real data beats polished mockups every time.

Lean into speed as the story
ClickHouse's edge is millisecond queries at petabyte scale, so make that the hero of your build. Benchmark it. Show the before/after. A use case that's impossible on other databases is your fastest path to standing out.

Build for adoption
Top entries show a clear path from prototype to production. Define the customer, use case, and business impact. Frame your hack around who will use it and how it scales. That moves you from a cool project to the Top 10.

Working professionals only. Data engineers, backend & platform devs, ML practitioners, dev advocates, engineering leads, CTOs, founders. Teams of 2 to 4. Proof of professional status may be requested at registration. University students are not eligible this round.

Yes — brush up if you need to. Getting-started resources, documentation, and guides roll out through July. Show up ready to ship, not learn syntax.

Free for accepted teams. Travel and accommodation are on you; food, drinks, swag, and everything on-site are on us.

Check-in 8 AM Saturday. Problem statement drops at 12 PM. Code freeze 12 PM Sunday. Top 10 teams pitch on stage from 2 PM. Winners announced 4:30 PM. Energy stations, mentor office hours, and meals throughout. See the full schedule in the handbook.

Top 3 teams present on the main stage at Open House Bengaluru on 22 September 2026. Winners get dedicated coverage across ClickHouse blogs, social, and video. The best builds become the opening chapter of your next conversation.

You retain full IP ownership of everything you build, but you agree to publish your submission’s source code to a public GitHub repository under either the MIT License or the Apache License 2.0 (or another permissive open-source license pre-approved by ClickHouse) by no later than the submission deadline. Also, you grant ClickHouse certain rights to your submission, including the right to review, evaluate, and feature your submission for Hackathon-related and promotional purposes.
