# stream_* session settings

Works for tables with streaming in the case of a timeout, or when a thread generates [max\_insert\_block\_size](/docs/reference/settings/session-settings/max-insert#max_insert_block_size) rows.

The default value is 7500.

The smaller the value, the more often data is flushed into the table. Setting the value too low leads to poor performance.
