# Instant compute for your most intensive workloads

- Date: Wednesday, October 7
- Time: 11AM - 12PM CEST (Europe)
- Duration: 30-minute session + 15 minutes live Q&A

### **Introducing ClickHouse On-Demand Compute**

Have you ever needed extra compute for queries without wanting to resize the ClickHouse Cloud service already handling production traffic? With On-Demand Compute, you’re one setting away from routing eligible queries to additional ClickHouse workers through your existing service and endpoint, without resizing the service or provisioning another one.

On-Demand Compute doesn’t ship alone. It also includes:

- A cost-based optimizer (CBO)
- A distributed query execution framework using multi-stage query execution

### **What the session covers:**

Join Melvyn Peignon, Director of Product Management at ClickHouse, for a technical walkthrough and live demo. See how to use On-Demand Compute, where it fits alongside autoscaling and compute-compute separation, and why data lake queries are an especially strong fit.

- How On-Demand Compute works: See how ClickHouse assigns temporary workers from a managed pool through your existing service.
- Live demo: Watch an eligible select query request additional ClickHouse workers and review the allocation.
- Where it fits: Explore use cases ranging from ad hoc queries to queries over your data lake, where On-Demand Compute is an especially strong fit.
- Related features: Learn how the cost-based optimizer and multi-stage query execution distribute work across workers.
- Private preview scope: Understand current capacity behavior, supported queries, and limitations.
- Roadmap: Review the six-month roadmap for ClickHouse On-Demand Compute.
- Live Q&A: Bring your questions for the ClickHouse team.

### **Who should attend**

This session is for data engineers, analysts, platform teams, and architects using ClickHouse Cloud who want to evaluate additional compute for ad hoc analysis, selected non-critical reads, or supported data lake queries without resizing the primary service.

Note: On-Demand Compute is in private preview. Support is limited to eligible select queries, worker availability is best effort, and ClickHouse Cloud SLOs and SLAs do not apply.
